    Pearl District

    32 reviews

A lot of the nice restaurants and bars are located in the Pearl District. We stayed at someone's condo through Airbnb, it was a cool area, but for some reason, it smelled like dog pee EVERYWHERE we walked. That was unpleasant especially since all the buildings were so new and modern. You can pretty much walk to restaurants, shops, or ...

So decadent! They specialize in chocolate but more specifically European style drinking chocolate! They even have several different variations to choose from! Delicious!

    Rose Garden Arena

    11 reviews

Portland's giant arena is beautiful, well-designed, and makes every effort to maximize audience experience no matter what seats you can afford. Parking is convenient and cheap (relative to many California arenas, that is), and though the food is expensive, at least it's good. This is one of my favorite indoor places on the West Coast to see a major act.

    Northwest District

    6 reviews

Formerly known as the snootiest, most upscale quarter of Portland proper (now somewhat outshined by new growth in the Pearl District), the Northwest is still a clean, beautiful, posh little pocket from which to explore Portland's funky art, world-class food, and unmatched devotion to coffee and beer. The main drags are 22nd and 23rd streets, where you'll find independent cafes ...

    Bar Avignon

    2 reviews

Bar Avignon is an upscale bar specializing in French wine and French food. That said, the focus here is the word bar, so the menu items are limited and the servings are small. The happy hour options are unique. I had manila clams with sausage and fennel. I also enjoyed the duck pastrami and foie gras stuffed pasta. The foie ...

    Powell's City of Books

    109 reviews

The biggest bookstore I have ever seen. This has got to be the coolest bookstore that has everything you want, need, and more. Even just taking a look around this bookstore will get you satisfied. If you ever get a chance to come to Portland, be sure to check this place out. Cheers!

Simply one of the best children's museums anywhere. School age kids love it, and there's stuff to keep mom and dad entertained too. Worth the trip.

    Multnomah Falls

    71 reviews

This is a beautiful hike that's easy and family-friendly. You'll definitely run into a lot of people on this trail because it's a tourist spot and very popular. The waterfalls are gorgeous so you'll snap a lot of nice photos too! I love being around nature and the air is clear, and it's just a very relaxing spot to check ...

    Japanese Garden

    28 reviews

Borrowing from Buddhist, Shinto, and Taoist philosophies, the late landscape architect Takuma Tono created a garden true to the traditions of his native Japan. Stone, water, and plants harmonize in the five distinct gardens of this 5.5-acre oasis near the Rose Gardens in Washington Park. Bridges, pagodas, and an authentic teahouse punctuate the landscape of native plants and Japanese imports. ...

Ahhh! Finally found it! I've tried to get to it a couple of times but always got side tracked until finally one day I looked up and there it was! Of course the Portlandia Statue is one of Portland's great tourist attractions. It not really all that much to see but regardless for Portland it really is a must see!

    Portland Saturday Market

    39 reviews

Portland Saturday Market is always fun to explore on the weekends on the waterfront. You can find food, little trinkets, clothes, jewelry, and almost everything else. You'll see a lot of hipsters around but it's Portland, of course. It's a fun place to hang out and people-watch too! Things aren't always cheap, but it's fun to "window-shop."

**I WANT TO HAVE TEARDROP'S BABY** Please save me from this place. Circular bar with lots of cocktail options, including a mean Happy Hour. Deadly. Ricky, the grand PIMP MASTER of all bartenders, served me 3 drinks, including a pina colada and I stumbled out of there, wishing I knew better. This place is GOOD. I mean REALLY GOOD. So ...

    Vault Martini

    4 reviews

Portlanders are truly spoiled with all of your happy hour spots - and the fact that they happen daily kills me! After having some stiff cocktails around the corner at Teardrop, we decided to continue happy houring here. Vault is a swank martini bar in the Pearl that I would imagine hanging out frequently with my gal pals or fab ...

    Tom McCall Waterfront Park

    26 reviews

Love the waterfront park in Portland! In the summer everyone comes out for the festivals in the park along the waterfront. Sometimes the lines can be long but overall Portland is not terribly crowded for a city. In fact the park is sometimes even better when there are no festivals on and you can enjoy the waterfront in peace and ...
