    Reed College

    Portland, Oregon
    4.5
    3 reviews

Whatever you think of Reed - hippies! brainiacs! communists! what's reed? - there's no arguing that it's a beautiful campus. This liberal arts school, nestled in Southeast Portland between the upscale tree-lined streets of Eastmoreland and the lovely nature paths of the Crystal Springs rhododendron Gardens, is a lovely maze of gothic-style buildings, Victorian homes converted into dorms, new brick ...

    International Rose Test Garden

400 Southwest Kingston Avenue, Portland, OR 97205-5883
    4.5
    27 reviews

This place has some similarities to the Berkeley Rose Garden. I'm only giving the International Rose Test Garden 4 Stars this time around, because nothing was really in bloom and there was no killer view of Mt. Hood in the Portland background. Past that, this is a beautiful place to walk and contemplate in any season, and well worth the ...

Amnesia Brewing is an excellent place to go in the summer, grab a beer, and sit in the large and expansive outdoor patio area. The string of lights are strung around the outdoor patio, so when the sun sets and the sky is a shade of sapphire blue, it gives Amnesia a wonderful, cozy, laid back vibe.

I went on Sunday evening to see their famous Sinferno performance because I had heard it was quite good. On their website if says Sinferno starts at 9PM but when we arrived they informed us that the live bands start at 9PM but the stage show didn't start until 11PM which was a bit of a bummer because the trains ...

Massive vintage store in the Hawthorne section of Portland. Cool vintage items and lots of clothes tons of variety not the best pricing for the quality. There are so many vintage and second hand shops to choose from just in Hawthorne if you are looking for higher quality second hand this wouldn't be my first choice, it's a bit too ...

    Wonder Ballroom

128 Northeast Russell Street, Portland, OR, United States
    3.5
    3 reviews

Wonder Ballroom is a concert hall located in the Northeast section of Portland. I've seen the Smashing Pumpkins and Manchester Orchestra (an up and coming band from Atlanta, Georgia) perform live. The sound could be better (I could barely hear the singer's lyrics), but the raucous audience don't seem to mind. One complaint. If you're paying tickets at the box ...

First off, let me mention how absolutely terrified of heights I am. Now, let me say how exciting and amazing this hike was. I came here once on a 5th grade field trip and putting aside my paranoia, it was a wonderful experience and absolutely beautiful. The hike is steep and not very monitored, so you'll have to be careful, ...

I've been here once for a school field trip (when they were exhibiting the human body) and it was a very enjoyable experience. The exhibits and artifacts are very educational and kid-friendly. The museum is very large and family-oriented but appeals to kids and adults alike. Definitely come with family or younger people for a fun learning environment!

Love the waterfront park in Portland! In the summer everyone comes out for the festivals in the park along the waterfront. Sometimes the lines can be long but overall Portland is not terribly crowded for a city. In fact the park is sometimes even better when there are no festivals on and you can enjoy the waterfront in peace and ...

Nice spot out in the Northeast part of the city! Here you will find a Trader Joe's and the Panera Cares non-profit community cafe plus several nice restaurants. Easy to get to because it is off of several main roads including Broadway and Sandy and it's also right off of the MAX line at 42nd avenue.
