    Portland Saturday Market

0.22 mi from Portland City Grill

    37 reviews

Portland Saturday Market is always fun to explore on the weekends on the waterfront. You can find food, little trinkets, clothes, jewelry, and almost everything else. You'll see a lot of hipsters around but it's Portland, of course. It's a fun place to hang out and people-watch too! Things aren't always cheap, but it's fun to "window-shop."

This is my Son's neighborhood park and at 90+ acres, it's relatively huge. It has plenty of space to walk around in it's nicely wooded expanse, and has the other stuff that folks like including a baseball field, basketball court, tennis, picnic areas, and an off-leash area for Fido.

Coffee shop, computer cafe and performance venue with tons of space! This place always seems to be buzzing. I haven't been to one of there events but during the day it appears to be a good place to work or have a meeting because the space is so large there are usually seating options even when they are busy.

After my Son's Parent Teacher Conference, I drove over and took the Kid to the 3rd Floor of the OHSU Center for Health and Healing. This is the building down below from "Stratos", home of the OHSU Cloud Minders. It's at the foot of the tram and right next to the really cool ship building yard. The hardest thing about ...

Cameron's is the oldest bookstore in Portland. Every available space is filled with yellowing books and falling apart periodicals. You'll eventually find what you're looking for--at a great price--if you search long enough.

If you ever crave a good game of PacMan at 3AM, Ground Kontrol ahs you covered. This two-story quarter arcade is filled with flashy, loud video games and pinball machines. They also serve beer and have quiz nights aimed at gamers. There's very little room to sit, though, so come prepared to play, not to socialize.

After a busy week of Convention attendance and "glutinous" expense account consumption, I decided to go for a long walk and explore some of the distinct architecture that the Rose City has to offer. The Unitarian, Congregational, and Baptist Churches were interesting, as was the Portland Art Museum. My best experiences came out of "The Portland Stairs Book" by Laura ...

Reading Frenzy is a cute little store that features books, poems, zines, calenders, stationary, cards, and other independent press stuff. Portland's quintessential drag queen bar, Darcelle's is a lot of fun. The performers here put a great amount of effort into their outfits and their shows, and many throw in a lot of comedy for good measure. It's not a strip-club at all. It's more of a cabaret with free-flowing booze.

The Hillsdale Farmer's Market has a nice mix of high quality produce, baked goods, fish and elk, colourful Portlandia locals, and drizzle. It's located at Wilson High School and when it was in full swing last Sunday, parking space was at a premium. Of course, if I lived here, I'd probably walk, bike, or take the bus here.
