Portland City Grill

The reason to go here is the view. Great happy hour. Drinks were so-so. Piano bar. Piano player did a medley of Steve Miller and Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah." Really great view. Ok to take kids (particularly over the age of 8).

I grew up in Portland, so it was a bit weird to me when they turned part of one of our oldest department stores into a hotel, but it's actually really cool! The suites here are gorgeous and have amazing views of downtown Portland's Pioneer Square and beautiful linens. I've heard they aren't that soundproof, though, but haven't spent the ...

The Multnomah Hotel, built and opened in 1912, is on the National Registry of Historical Places. Its two story lobby, with marbled based pillars ...

I like this hotel for its ease of use! You walk in to a modern lobby that looks more like an airline counter area which gives it a feeling of efficiency and movement. Somehow they managed to design the lobby so it does not look like a modern office lobby! The hotel's atmosphere I would describe as comfortably efficient and ...

While this is not my favorite of the three downtown Marriots I've visited in Portland (that honor--if you want to call it that--goes to the waterfront location), I do think this little Marriott is a good value and in an amazing location. It's on the corner of Washington and Broadway streets, which is pretty close to the dead center of ...

Super stylish and trendy boutique hotel similar to Hotel San Jose in Austin, Texas. The doors are chalkboards with chalk included in the room. One of the nicest Kimptons I've seen, and nicest hotels in Portland period. Not cheap but you get what you pay for. Its peaceful riverfront location is more convenient for business than nightlife. (They roll up the sidewalks in this part of town, although it's a short drive or cab ride to plenty of places.) People like The Heathman because it's an independently owned hotel that has a reputation for elegance. When “Old Hollywood” romanced modern decor they had a lovechild and named it the Paramount Hotel. A friendly concierge greeted me and we were instant friends.
