I must admit I’m partial to the Marriott chains of hotels, and this particular hotel is no exception. Located in central SW downtown this is yet another Marriott brand ideally situated to take advantage of the business market; although ideal too for travelers who desire just a little bit of luxury, or even locals taking a night out on the town.
The rooms are very comfortable, quite luxurious, clean, and on the higher priced floors can give you a good view of Portland. Amenities include a fitness center and room service, and restaurant. Parking and wifi is for a fee. There is a sports bar and lounge library.
As a Marriott Reward member I have come to expect a certain standard both from the staff and the quality of appointments and style. This Marriott is no exception, although an indoor swimming pool/spa would have made it even better!
Still if the ultimate downtown location is important to you, then this it!Recommended for:

While this is not my favorite of the three downtown Marriots I've visited in Portland (that honor--if you want to call it that--goes to the waterfront location), I do think this little Marriott is a good value and in an amazing location. It's on the corner of Washington and Broadway streets, which is pretty close to the dead center of Portland. You can walk to Powell's, Pioneer Square, and most of downtown's better restaurants in but a few minutes. The higher floors are a bit more expensive but they have great views; even the somewhat lower floors aren't bad. There's also a library lounge area, a sportsbar, and a restaurant on site. Unfortunately, there's no pool and breakfast costs extra unless you are buying a package.

It feels like a chain hotel. It's fine but there are better downtown hotels if that's what you're looking for. There is a Peete's coffee right next door and the hotel is really close to Pioneer Courthouse square and max, so it's an easy place to stay, shop, eat, and go out etc. but like most of the other downtown hotels, if you come by car prepare to pay around $30 to park over night. The first floor lobby is a little cramped (maybe because they don't want people in off the street lurking there), but it can make waiting and getting luggage and check-in sorted a little uncomfortable.Recommended for:

Very large rooms (we had a corner room) that were well appointed. Sadly, we had to have housekeeping come back up and change sheets as the ones on the bed didn't look clean. The staff responded immediately and were friendly and professional. I would stay there again.Recommended for:

Very competitive price and a nice comfortable place to stay in Portland. It's typical to a Marriott chain while a little bit of a dated 90's style. I'm sure it will be remodeled soon.
