Portland Saturday Market is always fun to explore on the weekends on the waterfront. You can find food, little trinkets, clothes, jewelry, and almost everything else. You'll see a lot of hipsters around but it's Portland, of course. It's a fun place to hang out and people-watch too! Things aren't always cheap, but it's fun to "window-shop."Recommended for:

Wow, what fun! This market is very Portland! All kinds of vendors that specialize in everything from making hats to little machines that turn virtually anything into a speaker. Down by the river you can take in a nice view while you enjoy treats from the food carts!Recommended for:

Saturday Market has long been a favorite tourist attraction and special stop for locals, and for good reason - there are dozens (if not hundreds) of stalls of arts, crafts, food items, clothes, jewelry, knick-knacks, and anything else you can imagine - much of it one-of-a-kind and also somehow very Portland - lining alley after alley under the cover of the bridge. It's also great for people watching, catching sight of a street performer or two, and, if you're willing to pay a little extra, eating from a stand.Recommended for:

A longtime Portland institution, the Saturday Market (also ope on Sundays) is great place to pick up one-of-a-kind handcrafted items from local artists. Here you'll find everything from paintings of nature scenes to hand-stitched hoodies, as well as soaps, jewelry, and tie-dyed everything. Don't forget to sample the "elephant ears," fried flatbread dusted with cinnamon and sugar.Recommended for:

I really enjoy the Portland Saturday (and Sunday) market when I'm in town. I especially like the arts and crafts booths that are closer to the bridge. Several years ago I bought a nice door harp that is still decoratively next to my front door. Recent discoveries include a woman who sells some really nice hand sewn notebooks, Duncan's Woods boxes, Colton Forge blacksmithing products, and more.....

You can definitely find a little bit of everything here!
It's a bit of a farmers market and flea market all in one. From hipster to quirky they've got it all.
screen printed shirts
mustaches, feathers, and wood
TIP: great spot for people watching! "Keep Portland Weird"

The Saturday Market is allright. The problem with Portland is though that since it rains a good portion of the year, it gets kind of crappy to be outside and shop when it's raining, especially in an open air market. Good selection of arts and crafts though.
