This hotel is another bar/restaurant and hotel combo. The lobby (if you can really call it that) is literally right inside the restaurant. I was confused when I entered because I wasn’t sure if I was going to be asked if I wanted to dine in or order take-away or be asked if I wanted to make a reservation to stay there. The mixture of the bar and resturant and hotel seemed far too fluid. There wasn’t too much of a separation. And the bar/restaurant was so noisy that I doubt someone staying there could get a good night of rest unless they relied on handy dandy earplugs. If noise doesn’t bother you and you want a balcony to hang out on with a drink or a cigarette, this might be the hotel pick for you. If not, I’d look elsewhere.Recommended for:

The Posada del León de Oro is a fantastic spot for any history buffs. The Posada is steeped in stories and history, which the helpful staff are more than willing to share. Each floor has a separate theme which translates to each bedroom. The rooms are really spacious and have everything that you could possible need. It's in a great location, right in the heart of the La Latina district.Recommended for:

We came here to the restaurant portion, not the hotel. The restaurant floor is clear to show some of the Roman ruins located under the building. The menu is not extensive but very tasty and particularly good for fish. The wine list is reasonably priced.
There is also a bar area at the front which features some great cocktails.

Posada Del Leon de Oro is a modern hotel with a great location. Cava Baja is a quiet street by day and bustling by night. Posada Del Leon de Oro is located within walking distance to Palacio Real, Plaza Mayor, Puerta del Sol, cafes, shopping and metro. Our room had a small balcony overlooking Cava Baja, a very comfortable king sized bed and beautiful bathroom. This hotel offers and extensive wine list and upscale restaurant with excellent food.Recommended for:
