Pretty good food (nothing spectacular in my opinion, but solid), huge space (good for groups of friends), and good beer. Open late, so that's a plus.

    U sudu

    Vodičkova 677/10, 110 00 Prague 1-New Town, Czech Republic
    3 reviews

U Sudu is a bit like an iceberg. The tiny bar that is visible from the street does not hint at the charming, cavernous cellars that lie beneath. Bring your spelunking gear though, cause the cellars just keep going down. There is a bar at the very bottom to reward your bravery, which is why U Sudu is the best.

    Restaurace u Veverky

    Eliášova 324/14
    2 reviews

Lived for a year in Prague and this was hands down my favorite restaurant. Outside the main city area but easily accessed by metro. This place serves authentic, hearty, delicious Czech food. Walk through the smokey bar and make eye contact with a waiter. Some English is spoken here but only begrudgingly. But relax, know that once you get a ...

    Prague, Czech Republic

The goulash was okay (I don't think I could tell excellent goulash anyway, it's not really my thing but, you know, when in Prague...), the beer was excellent (is there somewhere in Prague where it is not?), the prices very reasonable.

    Novomestsky Pivovar

Vodièkova ul. 20, Prague 110 00 Czech Republic

I'm not a great fan of beer in general, but I found a broad selection of beer in this brewery. They also have a restaurant service with typical Czech dishes.

    Klub architektů

Betlémské náměstí 169/5a, 110 00 Prague 1-Old Town, Czech Republic
    1 review

The food here is great and the ambiance makes it even better. It's in a basement wine cellar of an old Prague building and has been decorated in a modern yet rustic style. My travel buddy and I loved it so much we came back twice for dinner, even though we were only in Prague for about 3 nights in ...

Drawing from a range of culinary influences, Fraktal offers up exquisite modern food that runs the gamut from Czech to Mexican. Eating not your thing? No worries, Fraktal is a great place to enjoy some of that Pilsner beer that the Czechs are known for.

    U Rudolfina

    Křižovnická 11 Praha-Prague 1
    1 review

Despite its proximity to Old Town Square and all of the tourist traps around it, U Rudolfina is a fantastic authentic Czech pub, that is full of Czech people and charges Czech (more reasonable) prices. Like many other Czech pubs, it gets much bigger when you go underground. The food I had there (traditional cheese) was very good and, of ...

    Restaurace Perpetuum

    Na hutích 661/9
    1 review

This place might have some of the best duck in the world, As someone who lives in Beijing that is saying something. More upscale than typical Czech restaurants but not touristy either. Service is impeccable and the staff know everything about the food preparation and source of their meat. Try the foie gras with ginger bread and cranberries, or the ...
