I love all the outdoor seating there is here - on a nice night, you can grab a table outside at a restaurant and watch the nightlife go by all around you. We ate at a pretty decent thai restaurant, but the cuisine along the street is pleasantly varied. There's also a busy market during the day, but, as always, be careful of pick-pocketers, since this is a prime tourist destination.

Pub Street is based in a lively section of downtown Siem Reap and is filled with restaurants, bars, pubs, and clubs catering to tourists and the expat crowd. There are many things to see and do, so I suggest coming here at night after a long trek exploring Angkor Wat.Recommended for:Backpackers

This area is a definite tourist trap. Everyone eating/drinking in the area were foreigners. I even noticed the prices for the food/drinks were much higher.
But aside from this area being geared towards tourists, I wasn't impressed with the lineup of restaurants and shops.
If you skip this place, you wouldn't be missing out.

You can call it an over priced tourist trap, or you can call it an indicator of the prosperity of the region brought by tourism; what you should never do, is compare it to a first world country! They serve a need, and do it because there are very few options that pay so well, and meet their families needs; our driver could afford to send his son to a private school!

Worth having dinner here for one or two nights, but then there are much better places to go and get some local fair. The main tourist strip, this is where you will find all the over priced tourist restaurants, massage places, and souvenir shops. If you want a late night party, the Temple Bar and Angkor What? Bar is the place for you. Just off the main strip you will find all the outdoor street stalls that serve great food and much cheaper, they start around 4pm and go till about 11pm.

Pub Street is where you go in Siem Reap after a day of exploring the temples of Angkor. There are a lot of bars and restaurants that you can go to at modest prices. Choices range from fastfood chains to restaurants offering traditional Khmer food.
Most of Pub Street was flooded when we were in Siem Reap but the place was still teeming with tourists who saw the water as just another attraction.
