Punta Cana, on the eastern tip of the Dominican Republic, has golden-sand beaches. The resorts are spread out along the coast of the green countryside with mountains in the background. Beautiful.

We are beach people and the Barbavro beach is one of the most beautiful Beaches.
Peaceful, clean, calm and sparkling clear. Also no vendors allowed on beach.
Natural surroundings without Highrises blocking views.

DR has all-inclusive resorts on every one of its coasts but Punta Cana is pretty much the rock star of the bunch. It has the best beaches on the island (think soft white sand, towering palm trees, and lots of secluded spots), and some of the newest/updated resorts in the DR too.

The only catch is that you're out there, as in no major (or even minor) cities so any nightlife/partying is pretty much confined to the resort you stay at (some, however, have sister resorts so you can at least check out a few different scenes).

I truly enjoyed Punta Cana - people come from all over the world to enjoy the beautiful beaches. Yes, there's seaweed, yes, it's a poor country, so there's a few things not to expect if you've been to Hawaii or other spots. But all in all, the people are friendly, the drinks are strong, the weather is perfect. Make sure to do your research before picking a spot to stay! We stayed at Dreams Palm Beach and booked through Apple Vacations and it was an awesome trip.

The area is dominated by all-inclusive resorts on white sand beaches. There are huge discounts down here during hurricane season. Great place to bask in the sun on the beach, but not the spot to get to know the people and the country. The people who go here, hardly leave the resorts.

Inexpensive and a ton of Luxury. You can get all inclusive for a pretty low price, especially when booking with a group

Did not find the locals very friendly. We stayed at The Moon Palace/Hard Rock Hotel and found that it was just too large. Food was not good and the pools were dirty.

Everything in the Dominican is great!!! It is a must go, It is windy up until the end of April, and then it gets hot, so you will have to decide which is better for you.

Cool destination. good hotels with some all inclusive. Hard Rock, Paradisus Palma Real, Tortuga Bay and Sanctuary are the best options, nice family destination.
