The closing of this restaurant is truly sad. The magic of their jackfruit "meat" has satisfied many carnivores. They have taught other veggie restaurants that faux meats can be made with real food (marinated jackfruit), not just processed soy and gluten.
I am glad that I have been lucky enough to dine at Pure Luck and hoping they reappear after their closing. If I am so LUCKy...
While I wasn't head over heels in love with their fish burrito, discovering this restaurant long ago and reading about their jackfruit tacos made me buy some canned jackfruit of my own to cook.
Tasty and tangy soup, fresh salad, fried pickles, so much vegan goodness! Lots of junk food? Maybe, but also some great whole foods too!
Located across the street from vegan-friendly Scoops, it's going to be hard to match the awesomeness of this place.

If you're looking for delicious vegetarian/vegan options, look no further. Heck, if you've ever wanted to try vegan food (I'm not vegan. This place rocks, though), this should be your first stop. It's not traditional tofu-this and tofu-that, boring boring boring. It would be understandable if you associated that with vege/vegan cuisine, but this isn't your hippie-uncle's vegan restaurant.
Try the Jackfruit BBQ "Pork" Sandwich. It's actually amazing how much Jackfruit actually tastes and feels like pork. The Jackfruit Carnitas Burrito is tasty, especially when smothered in salsa and guacamole!
If you're looking for something interesting to try in LA, a real LA experience, this restaurant has what you're looking for. Don't think too much about the fact that it's vegan. You wouldn't know if it didn't say so on the menu!
Bonus: Right across the street is an amazing ice-cream shop called Scoops. Venture over after lunch/dinner to try one of their many crazy, creative flavors.
