I love the interesting juxtaposition between the historic architecture of the surround Louvre Palace and this modern, glass pyramid. It's remarkable how well-integrated this contemporary structure feels. It looks beautiful when lit up at night too!

Amazing inside and out! I love the contrast of the modernness of the glass pyramid against the big old stone Louvre. The pyramid has really come to define the look of the museum!

When I.M. Pei built the pyramid entrance to the Louvre, many Parisians considered it a hideous sacrilege. I think it fills much the same role as the Eiffel Tower--an iconoclastic salute to modernity and a symbol that Paris is very much a living city.

The entrance plaza for the Louvre has two glass pyramids, one of which is the actual entrance. In contrast to the old architecture around it, these modern pieces give the area a bit more life, even if people initially complained about the change.
