- Queen Anne Bed & BreakfastOct 28, 2013
I loved the Queen Anne. And that’s saying something since I’m not really a B&B fan. Its set in two gorgeously restored Victorians, one housing suites, the other standard rooms. Each room is different in layout and décor, though most have murals. (My fave—the Aspen--is a tiny rotund room which feels as big as a forest with its 360-degree mural of aspen trees in full autumn foliage.) The main building—the one with standard rooms—houses the indoor common areas: a spacious living room with fine art, interesting books laying about, and a simple but elegant dining area. Outdoors, there is a large leafy courtyard joining the two houses; wrought iron tables and chairs are set up here, making it a go-to for breakfast in the summertime. Almost best of all, the Queen Anne is located just blocks from downtown, which makes it a popular place for business travelers truly looking for a home away from home. And I believe they find that here--and that's what I like so much about it.Recommended for:

Wow, this place is gorgeous! Denver seems like a good town for quaint little bed-and breakfasts, but the truth is I have never stepped foot in one until I visited the Queen Anne. It’s actually a pair of historic Victorians homes, side by side on a tidy block of Tremont Street just outside downtown. (A third is occupied by the B&B's owner.) The houses face a huge park, and although the area is quite mixed, this particular block feels very residential. The hustle and high-rises of downtown are only a short walk away, and it’s just a bit further to the theater and art museum. The rooms are cozy and charming, with plenty of light and warm colors. A couple rooms have private hot tubs, and there’s a welcoming garden in back. Best of all is the artwork found throughout, from snarky screen prints to in-room murals. Breakfast is served around a large wooden table.
