Honestly, there are very few streets in the world like Queen Street in Toronto. It is 17km long from East to West, and pretty much every step of the way you'll find good shopping, galleries, food, funky people and other interesting stuff. If you have one day to spend in Toronto, just start at Queen and Yonge and walk west. You will pass most of the city's main sights and will see the diversity that makes Queen Street awesome.

Fantastic shopping. Tons of boutiques-- I didn't mean to buy anything, but am so glad I came out here. I feel like everything that gets rave reviews from my wardrobe is from Toronto because of this neighborhood! Kinda hipster vibe, I'd equate it to the Mission district in San Francisco.Recommended for:

For those who have an afternoon free and great weather to walk by... I would HIGHLY suggest walking along Queen Street west. It's practically an outdoor mall.
Start at Yonge Street and walk west for as far as you like... it goes from City central at Toronto City Hall, to outdoor mall like by Spadina St, eventually it settles down into a more 'street like vibe' by the time you hit Bathurst.... For those who are up for walking further,... Walk all the way out to Dufferin St for the full experience.
Pick up a TTC day pass and jump on and off the streetcar and experience all those sections more quickly if you have less time and still want to shop and soak in the vibe.
