Love their cocktails! I tried "My Lucky Penny" and "Granita" which were both unique, hand-crafted, potent and tasty. Located in the Castro district, it's one of those bars with a lively, friendly crowd of people. Seating along the wall was crowded and a bit squished on a Saturday night, but my girlfriends and I had a great time. Note: cash ...

New gay sports bar in the Castro. So far I'm loving it. Good beer selection (yummy shandy), plenty of sports, good crowd, great music. In the tradition of the spot, the place was abuzz the next morning for brunch. I guess they serve decent food as well. Another welcome addition to the neighborhood!

    Dolores Park

0.35 mi from Quiet and Sophisticated Victorian Flat between Castro & Mission Dolores
    142 reviews

Dolores loves people, particularly the beautiful hipsters that frequent her home. She loves fine wine and cheese, bread and tapenade, and the feeling of a soft patchwork quilt resting gently upon her breast. Happy children and classic films make her smile, and she welcomes both even on the coldest of nights. Dolores loves the light from the setting sun, illuminating ...

I know this was the hippy capital in the 60s and 70s but walking down the street today, I feel that it's the antithesis of the hippy spirit (more like the capitalistic spirit) with rows of shops. Having said that it is a great place to go shopping for your burning man gear. Lots of vintage and steam punk shops.

I've seen The Godfather... many times, but none were as fulfilling as seeing it here. There's a pipe organ, and they occasionally have sing-a-longs. If you want to mix up your movie-going experience, this is your place.

    Davies Symphony Hall

1.0 mi from Quiet and Sophisticated Victorian Flat between Castro & Mission Dolores
    33 reviews

In San Francisco, culture doesn't get better than a night out at the Davies Symphony Hall. The modernist architecture and world-class acoustics show off the San Francisco Symphony and acclaimed director Michael Tilson Thomas. Dozens of special events throughout the year -- rock bands, soloists, guest musicians -- add to the diversity.

BUTTER me UP. I've been here several times during my drunken stupors of SOMA bar hopping and yes, this is the spot for casual fun and lots of good WT eats. You can't go wrong. Except if you have too much to drink and you are dancing on top of the bar . . which they don't mind as long ...

This has never been anywhere close to a favorite, but it's a decent place to sit (if you can find a seat) and drink for a while. They also have photo-booths, although they're digital and not anywhere near as cool as the booths at other local bars.

I can only imagine the brainstorm for this venue concept began with, "How can we make bowling cool again?" Well bowling is now stylin' with six lanes, a bar stocked with heady cocktails and whiskeys, and a menu to entertain foodies. You can't eat at the lane, but you can order food and enjoy it in the common standing area ...

It's so weird, and so cool! My boyfriend's brother described it as the 'Gothic plant store'. I would say that's accurate, but expect 18th century Gothic, not Goth. Full of taxidermied animals and plenty of cryptozoology, it's got a lot of funky stuff. Definitely check out the taxidermied mice which are dressed up in different outfits. Awesome! Though sadly no ...
