The luxury arm of the global Radisson brand, I really feel like the Radisson Blu (with its western CBD location) should be more exciting. Everything is done to a top standard, from the gleaming lobby to the fine gym to the polished restaurant to the continually on-the-bounce staff. But: something about the Blu still leaves me cold. Although all the rooms have lots of great decorative touches, with city-view rooms being bright and appealing, the cheaper interior "atrium" rooms lack natural light, and feel a bit cave-like, especially for the money that you're paying. And though I like their excellent pool and spa, and (a rarity!) free wifi, I found little positive to differentiate it from its other top-end peers in the Sydney CBD.Recommended for:

With free wi-fi, a restaurant, bar, gym, pool, steam room, sauna and day spa, the Radisson Blu certainly has enough indoor facilities to keep you entertained. However, with its location a short distance from the corporate hub of Martin Place, the area directly around the hotel feels a little boring, especially after 5pm. Being a heritage-listed building, many rooms are full of character, featuring Juliet style balconies or bay windows, and high ceilings. If you have spare cash or really want to treat yourself, the suites offer further luxuries and features. The atrium rooms, however - despite offering the standard features such as iPod docking stations and bathrobes - don’t provide natural light and feel slightly stark. Either way, if you’re happy to disregard the corporate air outside, the hotel’s interesting history and boutique-style charm makes for a very pleasurable stay.Recommended for:
