Ramada Inn Lake Shore - Chicago

4900 South Lake Shore Drive, Chicago, IL 60615
2 reviews

The Ramada is ideal for staying in Hyde Park if you are going there for a conference or visiting someone at the University of Chicago. Hyde Park is weirdly disconnected from the rest of Chicago. It is isolated from Public Transit, so it becomes much harder to get around without a car. For example, Lake Michigan is right across the ...

Not worth a special trip but if you're in the area there's a very nice view of the Chicago skyline. It borders on Shoreline Drive but the traffic really isn't a distraction.

This South Side spot is the real deal and probably the most atmospheric place to go for Blues. The neighborhood can get a bit rough. Make sure you’ve planned your transportation afterward.

    Woodlawn Tap

0.95 mi from Ramada Inn Lake Shore - Chicago
    1 review

Aka Jimmy's, the Woodlawn tap is where undergrads, grad students and professors from the University of Chicago all hang out. It's your basic Midwestern bar, with wood paneling, big pitchers of beer and maybe some darts. If you want a no-nonsense drink, this is da place.

    John G. Shedd Aquarium

4.49 mi from Ramada Inn Lake Shore - Chicago
    101 reviews

One of the most well put together aquariums that I've ever visited! The set up takes you around the World's oceans and freshwater systems, introducing water life along the way. FYI- there are lockers in the basement for you to keep your valuables in while you walk around for a minimal fee! Loved it!

First of all check this place out even if you don't like football. It is a monument to the soldiers hence the name. This stadium looks like it belongs in washington dc but with the new addition it looks like a spaceship crashed into it.

The McCormick Convention Complex is huge and I can't imagine a Convention that wouldn't fit inside this Behemoth. It's also surprisingly easy to navigate and with decent concessions. What I don't like about McCormick is that its sits out on the South side by itself, with no real connection to the life and vibrancy of the City. The old Reading ...

Not a Sox fan- but went to the staduim to see Tigers (woooo) Vs. Sox. The commute was great, hopped on the red line train and was there before I knew it. ** Find the margarita backpack man. He is by far the best concession walking around the stadium.
