Trying to get to the Ramada via public transportation is a nightmare! You have to hop around on buses and trains and it seemingly takes forever to get to the heart of the Loop, particularly during primetime traffic hours.
I would recommend staying here if you're driving into the city for a Bears game as it's super close to Soldier Field or if you predominately want to spend time in the Hyde Park neighborhood where it's located.
The rooms are massive and offer multiple comfy chairs and couches to lounge about in after a long day. They also have a nice chair and desk to sit and do work at if you're here on business. I was also impressed by the microwave, refrigerator and coffee/tea maker in the room as I feel like a lot of nicer hotels stock their fridges with goodies of their own that you have to pay for.
You're also right on Lake Michigan so hit the lake shore path or have a lazy day at the beach!Recommended for:

The Ramada is ideal for staying in Hyde Park if you are going there for a conference or visiting someone at the University of Chicago. Hyde Park is weirdly disconnected from the rest of Chicago. It is isolated from Public Transit, so it becomes much harder to get around without a car. For example, Lake Michigan is right across the street, but that street is Lake Shore Drive and very difficult to cross. The rooms aren’t too fancy, but they are very comfortable. The atmosphere in the hotel is very quiet. There is a restaurant and every Friday there is a seafood buffet and live Jazz. Any Jazz in Chicago is better than anywhere else. There is a basic fitness center that you can use 24-hours a day and a pool outside in the summer.
