Awesome shop for big size portion and small size price! I was very impressed with the wide selection of offerings. I selected the combo set A which included the mini ramen, 4 pieces gyoza, and chicken katsu, all for $8.95. As you can see from the photo, it was quite a meal. I do have to say it was a bit lean on the flavor; I would have liked a little more spicy, but with the table sauces available, one can kick it up. The shop is pretty new so everything is clean with fresh decoration. The staff are friendly and helpful. You get a coupon for a free 4 piece gyoza with main entree for your next visit. With the variety of dishes, I'll certainly make another visit here soon.
* Update: made another visit tonight and ordered the kim chee ramen... just the right amount of spice; very tasty!

It wasn't too long ago that RAMEN YA had it's grand opening in one of the local Mall areas in Hawaii Kai, right next to where I live...Being a big fan of Ramen since my college days and visiting many Ramen Houses on Oahu, I was surprised it took me this long to get over here for the first time.
I have been to the one in Pearl City several times, but knowing this one was in my backyard I knew if this was a good meal it would be the first of many to come.
First the Bills at Noodle houses always seem to be low and your bellies full and this place was no different.
For two people we got enough for four….and at a total bill of $30.00...You really can’t beat that and left over’s…plenty of them.
We had a pretty good array of dishes and combo plates and everything was great. My favorite out of all the dishes was my Seafood Ramen Soup dish. It had a great kick to hit, plenty of noodles, veggies and a reasonable amount of Shrimp and Squid.
I WAS VERY HAPPY….There are great combo plates and great ramen plates with some awesome sides you can get. The tempura Shrimp was a great combo I teamed up with my Ramen dish…at least for me.
The atmosphere was inviting and it was a good size noodle house…the staff was nice and reasonably attentive, but there are no bathrooms and you must go out side and around the corner to use one. Not a big deal…but worth mentioning.
For me when it comes to a noodle house I think of the following 3 things….
Does it deliver on quantity…YES!
Does it deliver on quality…YES!
Does it deliver on price…YES!
Service is a deciding factor and it was decent…but I came her for Cheap eats and plenty of them and I got them here at Ramen Ya.
Some people pull small houses like this a part because they are Stuck up Noodle Heads…I’m not and state it like it is…You get what you pay for here…BOTTOM LINE PEOPLE and that's plenty fine by me!
Ramen Ya is open Mon-Sun 10:30am-9:00pm
