Rancho Manuel serves local costa rican comfort food. I had the chicharonnes, which is basically deep fried pork. Served with a side of steamed yucca potatoes, healthier than the American potatoes. This restaurant is located on highway 34 near Los suenos and herradura. The restaurant is clean and serves decent food. Prices are reasonable. I've had this type of food in the capos district on the southern pacific side of costa rica, which was significantly better. This restaurant did the food some justice but the trick to this dish is to request the fattier pieces of pork, which tastes so much better than the lean pieces. I had two fatty pieces, rest were lean. If you are to go here, I would ask for the fatty pieces. The dish was made for two people and priced at 6500 colones or $13 usd. Would recommend going to this place once if you are in the area to try out some food but probably look for other places that serve local costa rican fare.
