Equally satisfying for both my scrupulous vegan self and my meat-loving boyfriend. The vegan-style "Works" burrito has me too hooked to try much else, and the horchata (vegan or not) is out of this world. Be ready to munch on plenty of chips and salsa beforehand because they're very generous. I've heard their desserts are spectacular as well but have not tried them myself. Service is average or above average depending on how busy it is at the time; they're friendly enough and do what they can. Nice people, good vibes and atmosphere, great food for all kinds of diets.Recommended for:

Ranchos is one of my all time favorite Mexican restaurants in San Diego! Why? Because this cute, warm and homey restaurant has tons of vegetarian, vegan and raw food options (I love the blue corn and avocado enchilada. yum). It has the BEST organic salad bar loaded with sprouts, fresh greens, colorful veggies and the most mind-blowing raw beet salad dressing! I'm obsessed with it. Anytime I want a healthy salad I head to Ranchos, by pass the chips and salsa and dart straight to the salad bar. Their vegan chocolate coconut cake is to die for too. Oh, and they also have fresh juices including wheat grass. On week nights you can find a Senora outside making fresh tortillas and your food order right before your eyes. Talk about fast, fresh and fabulous Mexican food! In the evenings you can also expect to be serenaded by live music. It's a quality restaurant with top quality food! Oh, and it has a lovely little outside patio and garden where you can sit and enjoy your meal- it's very zen in a Mexican kind of way.Recommended for:
