The second-largest city in South Dakota, Rapid City makes for a great starting point for a road trip through the state's famous national parks and monuments. The kids in your group will love going on a scavenger hunt for life-size bronze statues of all of the presidents.Recommended for:

It is a good starting point for visiting the Black Hills. Downtown is small with brick buildings well preserved. The Corn Exchange bio restaurant is a must go place. There are also nice cafes. We couldn't find a nice place where to sleep.
