It can be hard to get a reservation at Rasika. You can avoid this hassle by popping in at the bar where you can order items off the menu while sipping drinks. I highly recommend doing this and asking for recommendations from your server. It'll allow you to get a taste for how amazing this restaurant is without blowing your budget.

Rasika is DC's version of high-end Indian food. It's very popular and the sister location in the West End is equally as busy. The restaurant is located near the Verizon Center and stays full. You can pop in, but it's definitely best to make a reservation.

    Modern
    Indian Cuisine

Showcasing Tawa (Griddle), Sigri (open Barbeque), Tandoori and regional dishes. We have a temperature controlled wine cellar, offer small plates and a modern lounge.

Rasika is fine dining done right. The only issue here is they may ruin you on indian food forever, because no one does it better.

It's hard to go wrong with any of their entrees but the must-try item here is the crunchy spinach on the appetizer menu. It's a little salty but in the best possible way. This one is perfect for any foodie's wish-list.

Rasika is a modern Indian restaurant which is reflected in the glass and steel interior, and the open kitchen and walls of wine and spices behind glass. The tables include a large communal table and a lounge area with a whimsical looking bookshelves lining the walls. The menu provides lots of opportunity for sharing and the servers recommend wine pairings. The food was very flavourful and an interesting modernization of traditional dishes, but the dishes described as spicy seemed pretty mild to me. The service was unfortunately very uneven with some pre-dinner drinks arriving late, and not all the dishes which should have been served together appearing at the same time.

Rasika is amazing. The food is incredible, and it's regularly in the top 10 of Washingtonian's best restaurants, yet it is affordable for mere mortals - you'll probably spend about $20 on dinner here if you're not getting drinks. The vegetarian dishes are only $12! I LOVE the paneer makhani - last time, it wasn't on the menu, but they made it for me anyway. You might be in for a long wait, so either make reservations or come early.

One of my favorite restaurants in D.C. Can be tough to get a table when there is a convention in town but the food and atmosphere here are exceptional. Be sure to try the crispy spinach dish. There are no bad choices on the menu.

Awesome is the word, be it for choice of food, taste, presentation or service. Definitely one of the best restaurants I have been to.
