At the end of a dock overlooking the Puget Sound, Ray’s Café offers front-row seating for the parade of Alaskan cruises, ferries, and small fishing boats that sail in and out of the locks all day long—with the backdrop of barrier islands and the snowcapped Olympic Mountains. A steaming bowl of clam chowder or plate of fresh steamers nicely complements a glass of Pinot and the impending sunset.Recommended for:

Just upstairs from our beloved Rays Boathouse, this more casual place offers some burger and fry options along with a number (just fewer) of great fish entrees. There is a bar there but you still have access to the main wine list. There is outdoor seating on the balcony for which you will wait if you want a sunset view but we were able to call 20 minutes before showing up (!!) and get a table inside with a great view. Little easier on the wallet.Recommended for:
