I eat here a lot because of the restaurant's location, not because it's a great place to eat. Their menu sounds promising but I've never eaten anything here that's actually delivered or lived up to its description. You'll get a decent but less than memorable meal here. The food is fine, portions are large, the beer is decent and the prices are...well...typical ski resort prices. If they have something that sounds good on their specials of the day board, get that. That's where the good stuff is.
The concrete floors and vibrant atmosphere make this a LOUD dining experience so if you are looking for a quiet place to chat, this isn't it. This is a popular place, so be prepared to wait even when the place isn't full. Don't expect to show up at 7 pm and be able to eat and make an 8:15 movie at the theater across the street. Allow plenty of time!
What makes Red Rock so horrible is their always surly waitstaff! Really, they are borderline abusive! I don't think I have ever eaten here and had a pleasant, friendly server. It's sort of a running joke between my husband and me about the rude waitstaff. Whenever we are entertaining visitors or grabbing a beer with some fellow film nerds during Sundance, we always warn them about the nastiness that is sure to befall them. Maybe Red Rock should make that their gimmick: "Come eat here and get verbally abused for free!"Recommended for:
