Redondo beach is one of the prettier beaches in the Half Moon Bay area. Like most beaches in northern California, it tends to be cool and windy even on a warm day, so bring a jacket and don't worry as much about swim gear. The beach itself sits at the base of grass covered cliffs, and is accessible only by a couple fairly steep dirt tracks. It can be a bit slippery. Don't take the first path near the parking lot as its especially treacherous. We were able to do it with kids but one wiped out and ended up with a face full of dirt. Better walk north on the path 100 yards and there is an easier way down. The views are nice, though, and because of the difficult entry it tends to not get too crowded, which is nice.Recommended for:

This place is sunny, clean, and not so crowded. The people are nice and considerate. I biked along the sidewalk that's right beside the beach and joined a game of beach volleyball with some locals. The sand is also nice and soft.

This is a very nice beach close to Half Moon Bay. There is beautiful fine sand after you walk down the cliffs. This can be a little tricky. But if you do not take the first walk down and you go just about 2 minutes to the north, there is an much easier way to get down. I have done this with 2 little kids - no problem. Since it is not so easily accessible, it is not crowded and there is also no parking fee.Recommended for:
