Personally, I'm a fan. But guys, you probably don't want to take a first date here for drinks. Although the ambiance is sexy and the cocktails are great, the male to female ratio is 10:1. The chances of her swapping digits with another guy if you should leave for even a split second before the end of the night? You can do the math.

**GOOD AMBIANCE AND PEOPLE WATCHING**
We celebrated our Halloween here with dressed-up friends, securing many bottles of Grey Goose ($375 a pop).
Good looking people reunited here.
The Clift Hotel has always been the *it* spot due to its swanky decor and beautiful people. It reminded me of a typical LA lounge.
Expensive drinks, of course.
Douchebags here, of course.
They need to update the moving artwork on the wall.
Enjoyed my time here.
RECOMMEND for group parties or a drink.

Great atmosphere for a bar inside the Cliff Hotel. As you enter from Geary St, you will be greeted with a cozy living room setting, with a Big chair. Trust me, its a Big chair. A lot of people like to climb on top of it and take pictures. You may seem small sitting on that Big chair but the drinks prices at the bar are not. Expect a cocktail to be anywhere from 12 to 18 dollars. The bar is very trendy and the paintings on the walls will make you think whether you're hullicinating. You're not! The eyes in the paintings move! Yes, they do. Stare at them a little longer. Sometimes there's a DJ playing in the corner, and most times its hard to even get a seat or a table. I enjoy having a drink or two and lounge at this place.

There are three kinds of people that go to Redwood Room: tourists, rich people and those that want to hit on rich people. While this hotel bar has a beautiful interior, there are so many better alternatives around this block. Just seeing all the limos roll out and guys yelling on their phones outside just makes me roll my eyes as I pass it by.

Clift's famous and historic Redwood Room has been restored and reinvented as an exceptionally elegant and modern San Francisco bar. Suffused with all-out glamour, the interior features the original redwood paneling and enormous bar, which, legend has, was carved from a single redwood tree, as well as Starck-designed lounge furniture and an ever-changing array of digital artwork displayed on plasma television screens hung throughout the room. A cherished San Francisco landmark, the Redwood Room is back and better than ever.

Redwood room is nice and upscale and has a great open bar and lounge area. This is a good spot to come in small groups because I think it's loaded with singles (prob not the best environment for a date).
However, I always find that its full of females are 30somethings who dress up like they're going out to a club in Vegas, in hopes of finding single well-established men in their 40s and 50s.Recommended for:Luxury Travelers
