Very beautiful and well-maintained town on the Delaware shore. It's known as a gay friendly haven, and demonstrates the common stereotype that such towns are blessed by the good civic nature of their residents. Unlike any other beach town I know of from New Jersey to Virginia, Rehoboth shines like a class act. There are first rate restaurants, a diversity of cuisine and entertainment, and an urban sensibility of the arts. The downtown is very attractive and also a lot of fun!

There's a dog friendly beach between Rehoboth and Cape Henlopen called Gordon's Pond. I have to say the people at the DE beaches are fantastic. A random stranger found and returned my lost IPhone and on another visit an angel of a woman secured me parking after driving around for almost an hour with 4 hot and cranky kids in the car. There are no trash cans at this beach but plastic bags are provided. Take out what you take in, including Fido's trash. Amazingly the beach here is one of the cleanest I've ever seen. Sorry Jersey, DE has you beat hands down.
