Ah, at long last. I got to go aboard the REI mothership in Seattle's Capitol Hill district. This store (all three floors of it) was as excellent as I'd hoped, with a great customer service department and loads of choices for anything you need. Outside is a mini waterfall and stream with trails that you can test bikes and hiking gear on. Inside is a wilderness information desk staffed by actual national park and national forest rangers (sweet gig!) to help you plan your next backpacking trip.

It's the really big REI with the indoor rock climbing mountain. They sell...all of the products. You can also order online and have it ready for pick-up at this location in order to take advantage of web discounts and not pay shipping. Amazing architecture and really friendly staff. Only complaint is that the line at check-out can get a little long. It's a must-visit for campers, backpackers, rock climbers, all you adventurers.

If you love anything kind of outdoors activity and you're in the Seattle area, the Rei flagship store is a must visit!
A huge interior with gear an products for any activity you could think of! Cool aspect of this store is they have testing zones for gear from hiking boots on various terrain types to mountain bikes that you can test ride on their outdoor track! That's not enough hands on for you? Try their 70+ foot indoor climbing wall >=]

If you need any outdoor, sporting equipments and more than you need to visit this place! If you are going to buy a bike, they actually have a great wooded trail outside where you can test the bike! There is a big rock climbing wall here facing the freeway. If you want to be a REI member than you can pay $20 and it will last you a lifetime. The perks that you get as a member is dividends, 20% off one full priced items and much more. I think that it's worth being a member. Go to their website to find out more infomation. There is a parking garage where you get either 1 or 2 hours free or you can park on the street. Even if you are not going to buy anything, it's just a fun store to go into!
