This is a grand hotel. It’s big, it’s luxurious, and it’s located right on the river, offering great views of the city and the “corncob” towers located nearby. Upon stepping inside, visitors are greeted by large palm plants and a pleasant indoor fountain. Around the corner is the hotel bar, an elegant spot awash in warm, reddish hues. As to be expected, the rooms are quite nice, and the beds have these comforters that sport a really cool rhombus-shaped starburst design. A small table can help you get some work done, but you may just end up staring out the window for a while. For more views, hit up Roof at the Wit, which is just down the block and offers one of the best drinking views in the entire city.

The Renaissance Chicago is not in the ideal location to hit all the famous Chicago sites because it is not exactly walking distance to anything, however; it is close enough that an affordable cab ride will get you where you want to go. This hotel is extremely large and while the lobby and rooms are nice, you could transplant this hotel anywhere else and you wouldnt know that the hotel was from Chicago. We ejoyed the size of the rooms because we stuffed 5 people in there. This would be a good hotel for large weddings.
