I visited the Renaissance Hotel on a weekday afternoon. I was immediately struck by the open lobby that had a great looking downwards at the hotel's restaurant.
The staff here were extremely friendly and accommodating. I got to see a room on the seventh floor and was told by the hotel staff that they had recently completed renovations to both rooms and the lobby interior. And it shows. Inside the rooms were very modern and had a warm feel -- rich dark wood furniture, spacious double beds and a gorgeous bathroom with a neat little faux bookcase wallpaper design.
The bookcase theme was carried out into the hallway of the hotel which was a nice touch.
When I came to visit the staff gave me the option of seeing a room that faced the airport runway or had a view of the city. I chose the runway view, which was gorgeous as you can see the planes sitting on the tarmac. But I was told that sometimes the planes can be noisy and might be a bit of a challenge for a light sleeper.
This is a great hotel for a business traveler who's going to be taking meetings inside the hotel that they're staying in but still wants some nice amenities and comforts. There's not much to do around the Atlanta airport area but there are restaurants nearby and the hotel has a restaurant inside that is open from 6 AM to 12 AM.Recommended for:Business Travelers

For my entire life I have been flying in and out of Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport and have never set foot inside the stately Renaissance Concourse Atlanta which proudly looks over the runways and is visible as you land.
I was immediately taken back by the sheer size of the 11 story atrium when I first walked in the hotel. There is a fun and playful resort feel with mid-century accent furniture throughout the lobby. Carpets and furniture are brightly colored to brighten up the space. Beautiful gold and glass elevators grant access to amazing views as you ascend and descend from your guest room.
Many of the rooms actually overlook runways and you can watch planes take-off and land all night from your bed or even the walk-out balcony. Surprisingly, however, the rooms are surprisingly quiet for being so close to the airport.
If you love aviation, the Concorde Bar and Grille is a great place to enjoy the fascination of flight. I will definitely be back to this great location if only to watch the planes.
