Being born and raised in Renton, I've seen it go through many changes. It's just a quiet suburb south of Seattle. This is where the Boeing 737 is made, Coulon Park is located in Renton at the south end of Lake Washington... very busy on Sunny days! They also have a great farmers market and some good restaurants. And, if you are a Jimi Hendrix fan you can visit his gravesite and memorial at Greenwood Cemetary! Not necessarily a "vacation" destination, but some fun places to see.

Uh Renton, like most of Southern Seattle, is somewhat avoided for good reason. In Renton's case, it's pretty much strict housing or commercial. Nothing to do there at all.

At the center of what used to be a thriving coal mining industry, modern day Renton is still prospering thanks to its location and long list of attractions. This centralized city is connected to the major Washington highways I-5, I-405, and SR167. There is a great public transportation system here that makes getting ether across town, or to one of the surrounding metropolitan/natural locations, an ... read more
absolute breeze. Renton is also the new home to a state-of-the-art-practice facility for Washington’s own Seattle Seahawks. The impressive building happens to be the second largest such complex in the NFL. Renton is the final resting place of the world famous guitarist Jimmi Hendrix, who has been buried at the greenwood cemetery since he stopped rocking in 1970. Renton is relatively well kept throughout the city, even in the downtown district. This is the case because of a conscious effort by city officials to maintain even the less thriving areas to assure the city, as a whole, was pleasing. Today, areas like the continually expanding Landing bring even more to do to the streets of Renton.
