This is one of those special occasion only kinda restaurants, and it just so happens it was one of those special occasions the other night.
From the outside Nora is a delight to the eye, I would always recommend a reservation just to be safe- because this place was crowded even on a Wednesday night. We were seated in a less than desirable table in the center of the dinning room near the bathrooms but was still okay. The tables are spread out enough so that its not awkward unlike many other restaurants in the city.
as for the food- fantastic! I had the local bibb salad, the veal and tiramisu all which were perfectly seasoned and cooked to my liking. The wine had a lot of flavor but was a little to expensive for my taste- ($90) And apparently according to my boyfriend the scotch list leaves much to be desired.
As for the service it took several (meaning 5-8) minutes for someone to even acknowledge that we were seated and even then it was only the food runner/bus boy who brought us bread and water. Finally by the time the waitress came over we had already decided what we wanted. Although not overly attentive she did do the requirements such as bringing new silverware and what not. I just have a higher standard for service when I plan on dropping well over 250 for a meal. All in all a great place for a memorable meal.
