Just above the Tropic of Capricorn, isolated in the Indian Ocean lies the outermost region of the European Union. This tropical destination is a humbler version of its cousins, Mauritius and the Seychelles. While it lacks the opulent resorts, it still feels like a romantic paradise swimming in a cultural soup seasoned with French, Indian, African, and Chinese flavors. These influences make the island a favorite among gastronomers. In addition to the obvious beauty of the crystalline waters off the beaches, Reunion is home to swathes of green forest as well as Piton de la Fournaise, one of the most accessible volcanoes in the world.

Best spot to visit during our winter time, since it is summer time there. The flamboyants are in flower, lytchees are everywhere and the weather is perfect. Awesome!
