Although the Sheraton Rio is quite far away from EVERYTHING, it does offer a private beach (yes when you think Ipanema or Copacabana are too "touristy") and the vistas from the balcony of ocean view rooms are quite fantastic. The rooms are spacious and comfortable but signs of age are showing. The service is friendly and this is a great ...

This is a world class hotel worthy of its stars. Many of the rooms offer great beach views, the service is continually outstanding, and location is arguably the best in town. The rooftop, fitness center, and executive lounge are super nice. After experiencing a few other hotels in Rio, this has become my favorite.

Marina Palace Hotel sits rights across the street from Leblon beach and is walking distance to most of the best restaurants in town. It's staff was multi-lingual and were great. The rooftop has a pool, but it is small...the views however are amazing. Rio has good hotels, but not many great ones...this is one of the better ones...
