A jump in the past in this cheap and family restaurant: The two owners are the waiters and their wives cook... just as once! Outdoor seating during springtime/summer. Favorite dish: "carbonara" (typical Roma pasta with bacon and eggs).

Housed in an old latteria (milk shop), this coffee bar delivers quality drinks with friendly service. The old marble, machines and signs are still lovingly preserved.

Gelato, pastries, and more gelato! It's near the Parlamento, so the surrounding streets may be blocked off at times; you should fearlessly walk around the blockades because it's worth it. Try the Opera, Zabaione, Cioccolata Bianca, and Gnuttela.

Stumbled on this place....literally the most perfect cappuccino I have ever had. It has been there since 1937 and probably looks the same :) don't go for the pastries, but go for the coffee

    Old Bridge Gelateria

    0.36 mi from Ristochicco

Located halfway along the wall of the Vatican Museum, Old Bridge is a great place to stop for some gelato. This was the largest and cheapest gelato I had during my week in Italy (and I had gelato every day). Even with the small size you get to choose 3 different flavors! The staff understands English fairly well too.

    Forno Campo de' Fiori

    0.76 mi from Ristochicco
    12 reviews

I found this place on an iPhone Rome Foodie app and decided to check it out. It was listed as the "best pizza in Rome," disputed only with the friendly competition from nearby Antico Forno Roscioli. I tried both places, and thought Antico Forno Roscioli was better. Apparently people prefer one over the other (sort of like the Philly rivalry ...

It is a nice place where to have a meal, lunch and aperitivo in my opinion, better than dinner. The place is really big and offers a nice menu. There is a wide choice of wines. A nice thing about this place, apart from the fantatic location, very close to Ara Pacis and Mausoleo di Augusto, is the possibility to ...

The name says it all. Come to trattoria cacio e pepe to try the eponymous pasta, spaghetti covered in cheese and black pepper, an example of the simple genius of traditional Roman food.

    Pizzeria la Montecarlo

    0.6 mi from Ristochicco
    6 reviews

The Pizza at Montecarlo is very good, but it's become a tourist destination more than the "real" Roman pizzeria. Your best bet is Da Baffetto 2 behind Campo de'Fiori, Da Remo in the Testaccio zone, or Nuovo Mondo (also Testaccio). My personal favorite is Baffetto-2 because it's a bit less crowded in the outside seating, but all are excellent.

    Obikà Mozzarella Bar

    0.72 mi from Ristochicco

This place is a great way to sample the variety of mozzarella that Italy has to offer. The burrata (mozzarella filled with cream, basically) will induce tears of joy. Keep in mind that the lure of this place is as an introduction to various types of mozzarella. To take it to the next level, you should then search out shops ...

    Pizzeria Florida

    0.96 mi from Ristochicco
    5 reviews

I've eaten my fair share of pizza al taglio across Rome, and I have to say that Pizzeria Florida serves some of the best, no-nonsense slices in town. Prices are low and the flavor is high. The Margherita was particularly tasty, though I suggest not eating it folded lest you want to have sweet juice dripping all over your clothes.

    Osteria dell'Angelo

The food of poor people is surprisingly good, especially when those poor people are Italian. What was born of necessity has endured because it's delicious, and Osteria dell'Angelo in Prati serves up wonderful classics like beans with rosemary and trippa alla romana, among many others.

    Filetti di Baccala

    0.86 mi from Ristochicco
    5 reviews

On the trail of typical Roman cuisine, Filetti di Baccala will tick a couple essential boxes: baccala or fried salt cod, and, in season, puntarelle, the spring green served with an anchovy sauce - trust us, it's great. Filetti di Baccala also ticks that other time-honored Italian box of "si mangia bene e si spende poco" (you eat well and ...

I got a recommendation from a fellow traveler about Pizzarium. It was close to our hotel in Rome so we went there our first night. It was the best pizza slice I had in Rome.
