- Ristorante Pizzeria el Paraiso de AlidaMay 20, 2013
Alida's is located just at the edge of downtown Atenas. Set back off the main highway, look for the table covered with a red and white checkerboard table cloth and wine bottles, that sits right off their driveway to the restaurant. Alida's was the first "real" Italian restaurant in Atenas. Our favorite pizza there is their "Volcano Arenal Pizza" , a thin crust pizza that is filled with whatever you choose and then a light layer of crust with the sauce that drips down the sides of the top just like a volcano. Absolutely delicious. They also have a variety of other Italian dishes. The menu features an array of homemade pasta's and thin crurst pizza's cooked in a wood fired, brick oven. Some of our favorites include smoked salmon pasta, pumpkin stuffed ravioli, 4 seasons pizza and of course the Volcan Arenal pizza. . Alida's is open for lunch and dinner. Closed on Tuesday.

Usually closed Monday and Tuesday; however, she often closes randomly on other days too. – serves Italian food
This is the fanciest restaurant in town. It is an Italian restaurant. Alida, the owner, is from Italy. She hand tosses the pizzas in front of you and cooks them in a stone oven. We highly recommend ordering the pizza here. It is thin crust pizza and a person with a good appetite is able to eat one on his or her own. The tiramisu is pretty good also.
Directions: From the gas station, in the direction of the beach, 1.5 miles on your right hand side. Has a table with wine bottles out at the road. If the gate is open, the restaurant is open and if the gate is closed, the restaurant is closed.
