On a warm evening, this restaurant has outdoor tables on the edge of the Giudecca canal which could be quite delightful. On our visit the weather was too cool for us, although some hearty souls were dining al fresco. The menu is upscale and the ambiance with linen table cloths and crystal glasses was pleasant. The owner was bouncing from table to table introducing himself and offering suggestions. Execution of the dishes was not topnotch. The pastry crust on the fish stew was burnt and in a better place, would not have been served. But the dishes were flavourful. Good wine list. Somewhat slow service.Recommended for:

Had an absolutely incredible meal here. The place is small, but casual and the food is outstanding. We actually came here because I had read that Marcella Hazan (excellent cook and cookbook writer who lives in Venice) loved the restaurant and I thought, easy choice. Well worth it.
