It's been a couple of years (okay, maybe 4) since I have stayed in this hotel or even ventured into Mexico, but we had such a fabulous time staying here that I have the fondest memories of Cancun. I thought the hotel was beautiful. It's an understated elegance, certainly not opulent, but the lobby, rooms and pools were all beautiful in my eyes. The staff was helpful and always ready to assist, plus they always said HOLA to us whenever they passed us, which my little gringo son enjoyed. We loved the beach, and also loved the pools with built-in seating and lounge chairs. The activities were fun as well, plenty for the kids to do, including the nightly mini-disco which got my kids out onto the dance floor! The all-inclusive option worked out perfectly, there were a variety of restaurants and food options to choose from, and we enjoyed most of them, although the burgers were questionable. Just make sure to get reservations for dinner ahead of time or you may end up at the buffet. This hotel also enjoys exchange priveleges (for dining and other amenities) with other Riu hotels in Cancun, including one right next door. The nightly entertainment was fun, similar to a cruise ship.Recommended for:
