Previously the train yard, this land right by the river was developed for the World Expo (Spokane is the smallest city to ever host the World Expo). Most cities, if near a river, are highly developed on the river banks, but Spokane lucked out and was able to save the most beautiful parts of the river and waterfalls for an enormous park. With walking bridges over the river and falls in many places and connections to the small river island and both sides, River Front Park is a must for all visitors, even if you don't have the time for other attractions like ice skating, gondola rides, carousel, arcade games, and IMAX.

Beautiful setting in downtown on the river. A large fountain, radio flyer slide, Looff Carrousel, Imax and rides for kids can keep you entertained for hours. Have a picnic then seek out the goat sculpture and watch it eat your trash!
