The Riverwalk is a nice place to take a leisure stroll to see the coastal gulf waters in New Orleans. There are also shops to purchase souvenirs and gifts.Recommended for:Family Travelers

It's neat area to window shopping/walking around. Indoor is like a mall almost, but there's interesting NOLA stores that stands out. I remember this one store that had quirky items to just check out. Then outside you can admire the grand MS River along with the old timey steamboats outside. This used to be a place I frequent often when I lived in MS & visited NOLA.

If you're coming in from a cruise ship, the Riverwalk will be feet from your disembark point. Step in and enjoy some fresh fudge from the Fudgery (don't worry, you'll hear them before you see them), some ice cream, or check out the shops. There's beautiful views of the river as well!

Great to walk along the Mississippi river and have the town right next to you. Makes you appreciate the impact of the river and also reflect on the impact of Katrina. Enjoy a stroll to break up your day.

Indoor pedestrian mall along the banks of the Mississippi River. Former exhibit halls for the World's Fair have been turned into a confusing three-tier mall filled with touristy shops. If you're looking for a place to escape the rain or humidity, then Riverwalk is worth a stop. If serious shopping is what you're looking for, try the Shops at Canal Place.

This mall is located up the Mississippi from the French Quarter. The downside is that it is a major tourist trap. The shops are numerous, but many are mom and pop type stores selling virtually the same souvenirs. Sure, someone needs a fly swatter that says, "Let the good times roll". I would rather put the money towards another meal.
