The Riviera was once a grand dame I am sure. Howver, her looks are fading and she is not in the running with all of the current 5 stars! However, if you are looking to be removed from the strip, simple, and relatively inexpensive The Riviera might suit you just fine!!!

Ok James Bond fans. This is the hotel that was used for the interior shots of the Whyte House in Diamonds Are Forever. Unfortunately it has been redone so many times that it is almost unrecognizable. But try your hand at the craps table anyway, maybe Plenty O’Toole will give you a hand. Also if you follow me (Jay Amernick) on Social Cam I have a James Bond Diamonds Are Forever Video Location Guide! Live it up you are in Las Vegas for cryin’ out loud!

The Riv - North of the Strip, well past its prime but somehow, someway I still come back. You cant be the prices - this place tends to be below $30 at times. Its close to the Wynn, Circus Circus, Treasure Island and the Fashion Show Mall. Plus the amazing Peppermill restaurant which is 24-7. There is a new tower with nicer rooms but there are all fine - I've stayed in quiet a few. I mean, its vegas, are you really chilling in your hotel room all day long? I like the gambling floor and the location. Its not where I'd stay for a romantic vegas getaway (Id be at Wynn or Mandalay Bay) but for a cheap concert or gaming weekends why not stay low and roll high? Dont hate on the Riv, she's an old player still singing on tune - plus she's got a new pub thats not half bad.

Yuck. Only here because of CES as it's close to the Convention Center. The rooms are horrible.
