So, it pretty much covers ... read moremost people's wish lists. The streets, albeit now busy with tourists, are a time-warp and showcase the familiar tailor shops that the town is justly famous for. Get yourself a nice suit or dress made up in 24 hours, but make sure its something you will wear back home otherwise its a waste of money. The food is delicious and has some elements of the royal cuisine of Hue combined with the simplicity of a coastal village. Duck dishes in Hoi are particularly fine. You can either stay in town in a simple mid-range hotel and commute to the beach or, opt for the 4-5 star resorts on the beach and cycle in to the village. Nothing is far, but Vietnam is hot, which is something you'll need to consider.Recommended for:Chris Evans

I'd have a couple shirts made, wander the old town and take some photos, chill out on the nearby beach, and eat some chicken rice and other local specialties.

As he'll also take more measurements at a secondary fitting, you can be sure that each piece will wear just right. The shop is at the high end of the price scale amongst the hundreds of tailors in Hoi An (say $18 for a men's shirt, or around $115 for a suit), and unfortunately, though the clothes I had made by Mr. Xe looked great at the outset, nearly all of them have started to fall apart quite quickly.
