The train stops 300 feet from Pompeii Archeological site entrance, admission when I was there in late Nov 2010 was 11 euros for adults- WELL WORTH THE PRICE. This place was amazing! Some of my best photographs of my 12 day trip came from this site! I spent 4 hours here. You can spend more or less as you like. Just outside the ruins, there are small shops where you can buy soft drinks, sandwiches, gellato, etc... a wonderful day! Wear walking shoes, there are uneven surfaces, but minimal problems. You can rent a headphone to tell you what each of the areas are. (The ship offered this tour for $85 per person! I did it myself for about $18!)Recommended for:.Comment.almost 3 years ago. From Sorrento you can take the ferry to Capri, you should allow at least a day to discover this fabulous island. At the port of Marina Grande you can find the motorboats which take you to the Blue Grotto, at the entrance you find the small motorboats built specially for entering the Grotto. From Sorrento to visit the best towns of the Coast ( Positano, Amalfi e Ravello ) you need to have a car, or in the summer you can take the Metrò del Mare , ferries which leave Sorrento for the villages of the Coast. Don't miss Positano , beautiful at night, here you find shops with handmade sandals and clothing , Amalfi ( the cathedral, Limoncello, the Valley of the Mills just behind the city with workshops where they still make the most famous paper in the world). In Ravello don't miss Villa Rufolo and Villa Cimbrone with their beautiful gardens and amazing views..Comment.over 3 years ago. Report

I would dare anyone to ... read morefind a better view than Bellevue Syrene's view of the Bay of Naples from their terrace or restaurant. You'd think that would be enough, but they've got a fantastic restaurant, beyond excellent customer service and equally stunning rooms.Recommended for:.Comment.over 3 years ago. ReportAlex L
This is one of my favorite hotels in all of Italy (and I've stayed in over 100!).
