Hotel Savoy is strikingly beautiful in its well-planned and exquisitely executed dedication to simplicity. The sense of the entire place the moment I stepped inside was like a cool refreshing breeze on a warm day. The elegance of the design pervades everything -- from the cool, friendly service to the cool, sleek color scheme. Although the doorman wearing the top hat might seem intimidating at first, the entire staff of the hotel is very hospitable. The location of the hotel is really primo: right on Piazza della Repubblica. If it's warm enough when you're there, make sure to eat on the street. The restaurant is absolutely to die for (and you can eat there even if you don't stay in the hotel). They weren't available when I was there, but I heard that there are a couple of suites that have private spas in them. Might be fun to try out! They also have a conference room. Overall arty and sleek. Lovely place to stay in Florence.

This classic hotel is anything but stuffy thanks to the stylings of the Rocco Forte group. Comfortable modern elegance, many rooms offer views over the impressive Piazza della Republica. One could not be more centrally or more fashionably located. Service is flawless, especially the concierge desk.

This simply luxurious spot, perfectly located on Piazza Repubblica, is a chic Florence oasis. Guest rooms are designed in a sleek, contemporary style--airy and light-filled--wonderful to relax in after taking in Renaissance masterpieces. The L'Incontro restaurant, with tables that spill out to the famous piazza, is overseen by Michelin starred chef Fulvio Pierangelini and offers exquisite renditions of Florentine classics and a stellar wine list.

This upscale hotel lives up to its classy name. Inside, everything is spotless and attractive, with tons of attention to details like stacks of books and big art pieces. The staff is really professional, and it’s clear the Savoy runs a tight ship. The Savoy’s main selling point for me, though, is its location. It’s right in the center of the city on a major piazza that’s teeming with life - street vendors, places to shop, and even a carousel – all of which you can enjoy from the hotel’s café bar. This is an ideal option if you’re looking for a luxury hotel that feels like it’s in the heart of Florence’s contagious energy and bustle.

Wow wow wow. This is a hotel where you really want for nothing - the lush, rich environment of extreme comfort and hospitality permeates the atmosphere. This hotel is part of a chain, but you would never know it, as everything feels personal, warm, and welcoming. The location just doesn't get any better - right in the center, near the Duomo, it's a perfect elegant place from which to see all of Florence - although you might not want to leave! Each room is custom designed, which was a really nice touch, and I especially loved the friendly wait staff in the restaurant (ask to sit outside - the street traffic and delicious food makes for a perfect Italian experience). If you can afford it, I wouldn't stay anywhere else.
