Was once the centre of the world. You will see why immediately. Behold the grandeur that was Rome. And then have a coffee and people watch, which is what Romans do best.

The Roman Forum is a must see. For one, you can buy tickets to the colosseum there and bypass the ridiculously long lines you would have had to stand in if you had bought tickets at the actual colosseum. Two, the roman forum is so awesome! Much more exciting than the colosseum in my opinion. At the Forum, you walk amongst ancient ruins. You can touch things and sit on ancient columns and explore and get lost. Don't get me wrong, the colosseum is still magnificent and another must see (obvi), but if you skip the Roman Forum you'll really be missing out.

One of the best collection of Roman ruins that you can find. A good place to start for history buffs that are into the Roman empire. The range of different ruins and the history behind each one will surely leave you in awe.

Imagine walking on the very ground that the ancient Romans once walked on and experiencing history that until now was only on the page of a textbook that you glanced at as a child. It was a very cool experience to be able to say that I have been to the Roman Forum and even cooler for my 7 year old to be able to say the same. I am attaching a ton of photos to this review - this is an area of Rome that you definitely should not miss. Bring plenty of water and snacks - once you enter, there is nowhere to purchase beverages or snacks. We learned our lesson the hard way.
