Exceptionally good bucatini alla'amatriciana. This is their specialty and is the thing to get. Atmosphere is good but service a little rough. If the weather is nice, sit outside.

They have THE most delicious pasta cabonara in the world. Seriously, I ate there four times a week when I was in Rome. It's the best. And the restaurants namesake dish Cacio e Pepe is also delicious, btw.

    Osteria dell'Angelo

The food of poor people is surprisingly good, especially when those poor people are Italian. What was born of necessity has endured because it's delicious, and Osteria dell'Angelo in Prati serves up wonderful classics like beans with rosemary and trippa alla romana, among many others.

    Old Bridge Gelateria

While Giolitti is closer to the Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps, Old Bridge is by far my favorite gelaterie in Rome. Close to the Vatican, Old Bridge does a hazelnut (nocciola) and rice (riso) gelato that will make you want to move to Rome.

You really have to know about this place to find it. Tucked away behind Piazza Roma di Rè, it's a seemingly unassuming bar that just happens to serve the city's best tiramisu. Try the strawberry version for a special twist.
