    Campo de' Fiori

Historical and folkloristic market in the morning, Campo de 'Fiori becomes the nerve center of nightlife in the evening !

    Finnegan's Irish Pub

    4.5
    2 reviews

Believe it or not... who would have thought about stumbling into an Irish pub... in Italy... mere blocks from the Colosseum?! It's actually a pretty spot on themed pub. And I have to say the food, the beer and the prices are right up there! It's down a little alley, but if you're in the area and looking for something ...

    Piazza Navona

    4.5
    189 reviews

I had some pretty bad service at a restaurant that kind of hit me in a bad way, combined with the fatigue of walking all day and eating something with too much fat and salt (I still love you, porchetta, but we should probably be fair-weather friends). Piazza Navona is beautiful enough to wash any bad feelings away. It is ...

    Open Baladin

    5
    5 reviews

It's a bit sad that my best meal in Rome thus far is a burger and beer. But let me tell you, Open Baladin is legit. I've tried a lot of burgers around the world and the Capri Burger here is one of the best I've had. The meat is juicy, the bread (made by Bonci of Pizzarium) is soft ...

    Casa Clementina

    4.5
    3 reviews

I was guided to Casa Clementina by a local ex-pat who really liked the place. This is fortunate, as I'd probably never discover it myself. The door is unmarked, and you can distinguish it only from the number 9 and a doorman out front. Cocktails are quite pricey (over 10 euros a pop), but a closer inspection of the ingredients ...

    Piazza di Spagna

    4
    112 reviews

Hip plaza near the Spanish steps. Always something going on. You can buy cheap souvenirs or hire an expensive horse and carriage, so there is more than a faint whiff of the commercial. But that shouldn't be enough to spoil it.

    Fluid

    4
    2 reviews

I really like Fluid. It's got pretty lights, a nice spread for aperitivo and friendly bartenders. It's located a short walk away from Piazza Navona, so it's not hard to find. The downside is that it's a bit cramped inside (warm, for me), and the drink I had ran a bit on the sweet side. Still, it's not overpriced given ...

    Spanish Steps

Almost as iconic as the Trevi Fountain, the Forum, or the Coliseum. Great neighborhood and well worth a few hours especially if the weather is nice. Enjoy!

    Eating Italy Food Tours

    5
    4 reviews

My husband and I went on this tour for both the evening and lunch tour. It was amazing. The food was great and they took you places that were off the beaten path. You got to eat as the Romans do and see where they hang out as well. I highly recommend it!!

    Freni e Frizioni

    5
    8 reviews

I absolutely love this place. The bartenders are friendly, the drinks are good and reasonably priced, and the outside area is the perfect place to hang with friends. It's such a hip vibe, though also casual and elegant. This will always be a Trastevere nightlife highlight for me.

    Monti

    5
    5 reviews

If I could live anywhere in Rome, it would be in Monti. Hip restaurants, classic Italian boutiques, and a central location between the Colosseum, Centro Storico and the Trevi Fountain make it a must-see neighborhood. Small streets that aren't crowded at night lead to a piazza where young folk congregate with pizza slices and beers. My favorite gelateria (Fatamorgana) is ...

    Libreria Caffè Bohemien

    5
    3 reviews

By far my favorite bar thusfar in Rome. The bartender, Ricardo, was extremely friendly. The space is totally cool and the cocktails are relatively cheap. Five euros gets you a full menu of drinks, and there are also choices ranging from quality beers to a modest aperitivo option. Library books line the wall within the two rooms upstairs. Downstairs, you'll ...

    Makasar

    4.5
    2 reviews

It's difficult to categorize Makasar, except to simply say it's an awesome tea house, book shop and aperitivo joint. Yes, all three. The aperitivo comes with wine or a well-made cocktail, and runs around 7 euros. Very affordable given the casual elegance of the place. The service is incredibly friendly and prompt. The tea room/bookstore/bar additionally provides free wireless Internet. ...

    Trevi Fountain

Can be very crowded but a must-see, especially at night. Fellini knew what he was doing. Photographing it is tough, but you can play with the settings on an iPhone or Android to do it.

    Abbey Theatre Irish Pub

    4
    4 reviews

What I love most about Abbey Theatre is probably the location. Like other pubs in Rome, I'm not exactly blown away by the beer selection or prices. I did notice that wine was noticeably cheaper, and a cocktail with Jack-level quality ran only a euro or so more than a pint. That said, this is a nice place and the ...

    Art Two

    4
    2 reviews

A solid bar in Trastevere. Art Two is chic without being pretentious, the staff are friendly and they have several artisan Italian beers by 'Na Biretta. I've been here twice, once during a casual and empty evening, and once during a busy night after Freni e Frizioni. The vibe in this place is cool, never stressful and very fun.

    The Bulldog Inn

    3.5
    2 reviews

Of the several pubs I've been to in Centro Storico, this one is closer to the top. The free wireless Internet is a huge plus, as is the fact that it's large enough so that it doesn't ever feel crowded. I liked that there were more Italian people frequenting this place, rather than just a bunch of English speakers.

    Scholars Lounge

    4
    4 reviews

The crowd at Scholars Lounge is an over-the-top stereotype of the douchebag. Never in my life have I ever heard anyone sing along to a Nickelback song with so much fervor and passion. Then this was followed by Counting Crows (not too bad), and finally by a crowd-rollicking number we all recognize as Chumbawamba's one hit about drinking and peeing. ...

    Pantheon

    4.5
    235 reviews

Hey, it's the Pantheon. You've seen this in every collage that exists of Rome, I'm sure. It should be noted that it is free and pretty cool, considering how old it is. It is also the building of which I won a bet on-- there ARE no straight lines used in the building of the Pantheon! The architects added slight ...
