I wasn't sure what to expect when I heard there was an Egyptian museum in San Jose run by a esoteric secret society. I probably should have realized it would be a quality place, but I was really blown away by the scale, attention to detail and obvious hard work that has gone into making this museum and it's grounds look like a compound of Egyptian temples and gardens. Although a number of their larger pieces are replicas rather than originals, they are all very good and the originals they have are impressive. This includes a number of mummies - both human and of an assortment of animals.
Possibly the coolest part of the exhibit is the walk-through replica tomb in the basement. Wow! I also really enjoyed the gardens and could see coming back to explore those again.
Unfortunately, the Planetarium was closed when I visited, but I'd like to go back to see this as well.

This is one cool place to experience Egypt when visiting Egypt is not readily possible. Normally when almost every exhibit in a musuem is a replica, it is not so cool. But, when the museum contains replicas of Egyptian collections from all over the world's famous museums, it has brought Egyptian history together...all in one place...as one collective, now THAT is acceptable.
The planetarium is pretty original and has a nostalgic feel. The grounds is kept beautifully. This museum is a great outing for those intrigued by Egyptology. The museum does a great job providing an experience of how the real thing is like through its replicas while maintaining originality in its presentation.
