    Calcium Chloride produced in the nearby factory (called Solvay) makes the sand on this beach entirely white and the water a particularly impressive turquoise. It's referred to as the Caribbean of Tuscany. Certainly pretty to look at, it's not the healthiest beach on the Tuscan coast - other than the sunburn you're going to get for sure if you spend the day here, the water has, in the past, had some pollution problems.
